You can’t get on Meebo? As luck would have it, there are ways to work around the internet filters and get on Meebo regardless.

What is a proxy?

Proxies are like a gateway that sit between the computer you’re on and the site you’re trying to visit. The proxy goes to the site instead of you, accesses the page, and sends it on to you. So the site you want to be on only sees the proxy’s IP. So, basically you are browsing sites indirectly. Internet filters only see you accessing the proxy, not the destination site.

An alternative method of unblocking Meebo in school is to make your own proxy. This is harder than using someone else’s proxy but it’s a lot nicer to have because if they block it, you can make another.
